    Internet Based TOEFL

The TOEFL® iBT (Internet-based Test) tests all four language skills that are important for effective communication: reading, listening, speaking and writing. The test helps students demonstrate that they have the English skills needed for success. The TOEFL iBT emphasizes integrated skills and provides better information to institutions about students' ability to communicate in an academic setting and their readiness for academic coursework. With Internet-based testing, ETS can capture speech and score responses in a standardized manner.

The TOEFL iBT measures skills in reading, listening, speaking and writing, and requires you to combine 2 or more of these skills to respond to a question. For example, you might read a passage or listen to a lecture in English, and then write or speak your answers in English.

Umpqua Community College Testing Services is NOT a TOEFL iBT test site. Go to TOEFL® iBT for test dates, times, and test locations.

iBT TOEFL registration is done exclusively through the iBT TOEFL web site: http://www.ets.org/toefl
