RE: Presidential Search Update

Last summer, UCC President, Dr. Thatcher, announced her plans to retire at the end of the academic year, June 30, 2021. The UCC Board of Education is forming a Search Advisory Committee to advise the board on selecting its next president.

The committee will review the qualified applicants, rank them using the presidential profile that the board developed, and recommend candidates to the board for further consideration. The committee will meet once in December to get organized and once or twice in January to review, discuss, and rank the applicants. Before the January meetings, the committee members will review and assess the applicants.

The committee will consist of four community members; one student; one member from among the full-time faculty, part-time faculty, classified staff, exempt employees, and administrators; and three board members. All members will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement since all applications and discussions will be confidential.
