After months of planning and weeks of community input, UCC’s campus store receives its new name and dates for its grand reopening.
ROSEBURG, Oregon – Umpqua Community College (UCC) is pleased to announce that the college’s campus store has received its new name and will be called The Hawk Shop. Additionally, the dining area in the LaVerne Murphy Student Center will be called Hawks Landing.
To celebrate the campus store’s first renovation in its five-decade existence, a grand reopening event will be held Friday, Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be co-hosted by Rogue Credit Union.
Friday’s event will include a ribbon cutting, music, raffles, and special promotions. The festivities continue the following Monday, Sept. 23, as the bookstore welcomes students back for the new fall term with special promotions, giveaways, and more.
The grand opening event will also be the public’s first chance to experience the new student-run Rogue Credit Union campus branch. See related story: College Welcomes Credit Union to Campus
