211 child care referralParents can get referrals to child care programs in their area by dialing 211 on their phones.  A consultant will give you customized results based on the age of the child, location, type of program and other factors.  You can also search for child care online.

Questions to Ask When Looking For Care

Find a Star Rated Program  Did you know that Oregon has implemented a star rating system for child care programs? Not only can this help you identify quality programs more easily, choosing these programs can qualify you for lower co-pays if you get assistance to pay for child care through DHS.  

 

Does Your Child Have Special Needs?

Ages & Stages Questionnaire  Parents and caregivers can use the ASQ questionnaire to see if a child is on schedule developmentally. This site also provides activity ideas to promote healthy development.

Parents may be able to get extra support for their child through the Inclusive Child Care Program. This program offers free observation, training and financial supports to child care providers to help better equip them to care for children with high needs. 

Early Childhood Intervention services are available free to the community for children with disabilities from birth to three years of age. Services are also available for children 3 to kindergarten age through the Early Childhood Special Education Program.  Learn about services in your area:
