Financial Aid for Veterans

The Veterans Education Benefits Office was established to help veterans and their eligible dependents apply for and receive Veterans Administration educational benefits, VA work study, veterans counseling, and other supportive services.

You are encouraged to contact the Veterans Certifying Official located next to the Financial Aid Office in the Student Center for assistance.

Umpqua’s Commitment to Service Members:

  • Umpqua does not practice aggressive recruiting of any students, including service members and/or veterans.
  • Umpqua does not incentivize any employee based on enrolling students in school or receiving federal aid.

IMPORTANT: Please check your Student Email and Student Self Service to see if you still have requirements that need to be turned in to complete your FAFSA. If you have forms to drop off, there is a drop box in front of the Veterans Education Benefits Office window.

Military Tuition Assistance

Tuition assistance funds are a unique, distinct source of financial aid available to eligible service members and these funds are applied to the student’s account first.

Contact your Education Services Specialist/Education Services Officer to assist you with obtaining the necessary tuition assistance request.   Once you are approved through your unit for Tuition Assistance send a copy of your signed tuition voucher to [email protected].  UCC is on the quarter system.

The Veterans Certifying Official will forward the signed tuition voucher to the Office of Accounting and Finance for billing.  The college will bill the military for the appropriate tuition.  The military will pay directly to the Office of Accounting and Finance.  For billing questions call 541-440-7745.  For all other questions contact the Veterans Certifying Official at [email protected].

To begin the application process – apply for Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) at ArmyIngitED.  The military will expect to receive a breakdown of your tuition for each course when submitting the request.  This information is available via Self Service, Student Accounts.

For questions on eligibility contact your Educational Services Officer (ESO) Mrs. Ann Browning directly at (971) 355-4278 or email: [email protected]
