The College Kick Start program is the perfect way to try on your River Hawk feathers! Plus, it gives you a good head start on your college pathway. You can explore an interest, complete a prerequisite, build your confidence and/or increase your study skills. We will help you flap your wings by providing answers to your questions, academic help, and other college services. Next thing you know, you'll be soaring high!

RiverhawkThe Details

This program is open to all high school students in Douglas County who are graduating in 2021 or 2022. UCC waives the cost of the tuition to take ONE class up to four credits for summer or fall term of 2021. That's about 50-85% off the normal price of attending UCC. You pay for class fees and the book(s), if necessary. Class fees vary depending on the class and sometimes there is an open source (FREE) book or no book.

Then, make sure to take advantage of the many student resources and services at UCC like:

  • Hyflex classrooms that give you in-person and remote options. (depends on the class you choose)
  • Academic coaching (tutoring) is FREE.
  • Computer labs, printing, loaner computers and loaner calculators are FREE.
  • Workshops about careers, technology, and wellness are FREE.
