ASUCC Leadership Team Elections

ASUCC Elections OPEN at 9:00am, Monday, May 16 and are open continuously until Friday, May 20 at 6:00pm. Elections are held online through Canvas. Look for the “Ballot ~ Vote ASUCC 2022” course invitation. Information on the candidates provided in the course. Stop by the Compass Monday-Thursday between 10:00am-2:00pm for donuts (Do Not Forget to Vote) and root beer floats (Floats & Votes).

Red Cross Blood Drive. To make a donation appointment in advance, call 1-800-733-2767 or visit www.RedCrossBlood.org and use sponsor code: UCC. Walk-ins are welcome; however scheduled appointments will be honored. From Noon-5:00pm in the Student Center.

Tuesday, May 17

Donuts and Floats. Grab some goodies and information on this year’s ASUCC officer candidates. From 10:00am-2:00pm, Compass.

 A Window Between Worlds.  A Window Between Worlds workshops, which are art healing workshops that support participants in their healing process from trauma. These workshops are trauma-informed, hands-on art workshops that provide a safe place for participants to express themselves, tell their stories, self-regulate and more. Each session will have a different art activity, and participants can engage however they would like in the workshops. From 11:30am-12:30pm in the Student Center Lobby.

Film Club Meeting. At 3:30pm, WFA Backstage.

Beyond UCC-Find Your Best University. There are many factors to consider when choosing your future university. Students will learn how to find the information they need; then create a checklist of requirements for their best university bachelor’s degree program. From 4:00-4:45pm in JH 12 or Zoom.

Wednesday, May 18

Free HIV Testing for Students and Staff. HIV Alliance offers free and confidential HIV and hepatitis testing to students and staff. Services, resources and information provided by HIV Alliance and Peace at Home's campus CARE Advocate. From 10:00am-2:00pm in the Library Success Center.

Winning Wednesday.  Did someone say B-I-N-G-O!? Play for free for a chance to win local fast food restaurant, Amazon, and Bookstore gift cards. Noon-1:00pm in the Student Center Cafeteria.

Thursday, May 19

Thank You Thursday.  Practice thankfulness and gratitude; thank-you cards and supplies to make gratitude journals and jars provided. From 9:00am-3:00pm in the Student Center.

You Should Be Writing. Join us for a biweekly writing meetup during the month of May. Surround yourself with other writers and build your writing habit. Open to students, faculty, and staff.  All types of writing and all levels welcome:  research papers, poetry, novels, articles, personal journaling, screen plays, song lyrics. You will never be asked to share your work; this is a safe place to gather, write, and provide support for your writing practice. Bring a lunch and your favorite writing materials.  We'll provide space, a timer, and encouragement. Noon in TAP 14.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged. At 7:00pm in WFA Centerstage. Opening night lecture with Dr. Jillanne Michell, Professor English at 6:15pm. Tickets are $10/person, UCC students and employees are FREE. Buy tickets here
