Aluminum Welding Technology Seminar

UCC teams up with Miller Electric Manufacturing & Airgas.

Roseburg, Oregon– Umpqua Community College’s welding program has teamed up with major players in the welding technology and manufacturing industry. Miller Electric Manufacturing, Airgas, and UCC have joined forces to bring state of the art equipment and instruction to area aluminum manufacturers and boat builders. This two-day seminar has attracted manufactures from Brookings and Medford, eastern Oregon and Roseburg.

Manufacturers such as, Freeman Marine, Hells Gate Katanacraft, North River Boats, Edge Marine, River Wolf, CV International, Tarheel Aluminum, Con-Vey Keystone, and Newhouse Manufacturing will be in attendance. Miller Electric is sending several high quality regional representatives including two nationally recognized Welding Applications Engineers and Field Specialists. Seminar presenters Tony Anderson and Blaine Guy have extensive welding backgrounds and will direct the bulk of the seminar’s instruction toward; aluminum welding processes, metallurgy, procedure development, weld quality, and production. This seminar presents an excellent opportunity for current and past UCC students, as well as professionals working in the field to receive applications based information through a lecture and lab format.
