Part-Time Small Business Management Instructor

Responsible to: Director of Small Business Development Center
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Responsible for the marketing and instruction of the Small Business Management class and/or classes.
Market the Small Business Management program on a regular basis via brochures, advertising (traditional and electronic), presentations, visits to finance, accounting and other business service organization and calls on potential clients.
Strive to recruit twenty five businesses to be enrolled in the class each year.
Initiate recruitment efforts for a second SBM cohort
Organize curriculum and teach and/or organize speakers/presenters for each class.
Develop, present and teach appropriate instructional programs to assist businesses.
Stay aware of the changing needs of business owners and managers, business trends, business development strategies and develop curriculum accordingly.
Stay abreast of business technology.
Be aware of the capabilities of computerized accounting software.
Give on-site and in-office business counseling to clients enrolled in the SBM program as well as other businesses when required.
Prepare for counseling appointments as appropriate.
Prepare documentation of client visits in accordance with local SBDC and state requirements.
Assists in the preparation of grant funder reports as requested.
Represent UCC and the SBDC in a positive way to county businesses.
Encourages businesses to utilize the various programs offered by the SBDC.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in business administration or closely related field of study required, Masters and/or graduate work in a business related field preferred.
Past or current business ownership, management and/or consulting experience required.
Oregon driver’s license and own transportation required.
SALARY: $19.06 per/hr DOQ, Part-Time Classified Salary Schedule, Level III.
