I enjoy working with the diverse student populations found on the UCC campus, and feel priviliged that I can help create opportunities for students to become succeessful, in both school and life. My instruction style blends classroom activities with real world experience to promote a healthy, skilled workforce. Though I started my career as a a K-8 instructor, I have worked at ADAPT as a substance abuse prevention and treatment specialist for 27 years, and loved every minute of it; in this capacity, I have also worked as an Oregon Health Administration Addicitons and Mental Health Division trainer for those seeking certification in prevention or treatment. This transition, from education and social work to prevention and treatment and finally back to education, has been an incredible, life-changing journey.
