Test Proctor Policy for Umpqua Community College Library

1. Test proctoring is available only during open library hours. Because of varying work schedules, proctoring cannot be limited to one staff member although a single name may be given as the proctor. Any library staff on duty may supervise the test. The student should call ahead of time to ensure that the test has arrived and a staff member will be available for proctoring.

2. The library has a small number of staff often occupied with other duties. The proctor will remind the student of the test's requirements regarding what materials can be used on a test, but will not have continuous visual supervision of the student during the test. If a more formal supervision is required by a proctor, please contact the college testing coordinator in Student Services at (541)440-7659.

3. The library does not provide envelopes, postage, calculators, or other supplies and equipment. If a pre-stamped envelope is provided, the proctor will return the completed test in the next working day's mail. If tests are returned by fax, the library charges $1.00 for the first page and $.25 for each page thereafter.

4. Public computers for online testing are available on a first-come, first-serve basis in our public computer lab. During busy hours the student would have only limited privacy and quiet. Testing systems that require software to be downloaded onto library computers will not be permitted.

5. E-mailed tests, and user names/passwords for online tests, should be sent to ucclibrary@umpqua.edu. If you have any questions, please contact the Library Circulation staff at (541)440-4640.
