Budget Document 2009-2010
The contingency is now the 8% emergency Board requirement and $415,639 to be used if the budget reduces after the next revenue forecast or if maintenance and repair items cost more than projected.
Highlights of budget adoption changes:
- Tuition increase $2- not $3 per credit.
- Part time tutor coordinator restored while the program is transitioned.
- Dollars for extra sections to meet increased enrollment demands.
- A Financial Aid Assistant because that department’s work load has increased significantly with no new personnel in the last 5 years.
- Athletics will have $10,000 restored to help them while they begin fund raising.
- The Webmaster position will be restored to full time.
- A Security/Custodian position will be hired rather than replacing a custodian. This will allow us to implement the smoke-free campus and have day custodial service.
- The mailroom position will be restored to 30 hours a week, rather than 19.
- Money is set aside to do the emergency repairs to the Ford Family Center.
- Money was budgeted to complete the water pipe lining projects Phase 2 and 3. Stimulus money funded phase 1.
- There were restorations to materials and supplies, cover increased insurance costs and general operations items.
