A simple postcard in the mail promoting UCC’s medical coding and billing course enabled Vani Dudala to start a solid career as a coding specialist in the health industry. After graduation, she added several medical certifications to her skillset: CCS, CIC, COC, CEDC, and CPC from the American Health Information Management Association and American Association of Professional Coders; and started working at CHI Mercy Health in Roseburg.

As life has led her to chart a path across America, she has been able to land jobs in multiple locations along the way, including McLaren Hospital in Michigan, Boulder Community Health in Colorado, and now working for Clox Health in Houston, Texas.

“UCC is a great college with a high standard for education and success. The professors were amazing. They were able to teach the courses in a way that was easy to understand and learn. I have been working as an inpatient medical coder for 12 years,” said Vani.
