The Umpqua Singers June 6 and 7
The Fine and Performing Arts Department at Umpqua Community College proudly presents The Umpqua Singers: Two Great Nights, Two Great Shows at 7:30 p.m. June 6 and 7 in Centerstage Theatre in the Whipple Fine Arts Center, 1140 Umpqua College Road, Roseburg.
The performances are fundraisers for The Umpqua Singers’ upcoming tour of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The two shows will feature different songs and different opening acts from local high schools. Admission is $7 per person and $15 per family. Tickets are available at the door and online at tickets.umpqua.edu.
The Umpqua Singers, one of the Northwest’s premier vocal jazz groups, will be performing selections from their brand new CD, Who Are You, at both shows.

Join us for Geology on Wheels
Gain a deeper appreciation of the geographic forces and processes that have fashioned the strikingly beautiful landscape along the North Umpqua Corridor for the last 55 million years!
The Geology on Wheels class will meet at the UCC flagpole at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8, and caravan out along North Bank Road from Wilbur to Glide, all the way to Diamond Lake. (Transportation is not provided.) The day will end at about 6 p.m. Cost is $24. Early registration is recommended. Space is limited. Call 541-440-7744 to register.
Led by geology expert Larry Broeker, you'll enjoy 10 stops along the route to discuss the regional and local geology of the Southern Oregon Coast Range. Stops include Whistler's Bend, Colliding Rivers, Fall Creek, Umpqua Rocks, Soda Springs, Toketee Falls, Watson Falls, Clearwater Falls, a soda ash viewpoint, and Diamond Lake viewpoint. Some stops require hiking.
Participants are asked to bring a lunch and beverage, and to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Participants should be able to hike up to one-third of a mile on well-worn trails with an elevation gain of 300 feet.

UCC tuition update
To offset anticipated gaps in state funding for the new academic year, Umpqua Community College has increased student tuition $10 per credit effective summer term.
The increase brings the total cost per credit at UCC to $85, which is one of the lowest tuition rates in the state.
The tuition increase was approved May 8 by the UCC board of trustees.
Final Prix Fixe dinner June 6
On June 6, Umpqua Community College’s Culinary Arts students will host the last of three five-course dinners to celebrate the end of the academic year.
The final Prix Fixe Dinner (French for “fixed price”) will be held at UCC’s Lang Center at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 6. Tickets are $22 and include five gourmet courses. The dinner is planned, prepared, and served by UCC culinary students.
The June 6 dinner will have a French theme and include bleu cheese salad with peaches and blackberry dressing, roast pork loin with apple onion chutney, and other French delicacies.
A vegetarian option is available. Wine service is available for an additional cost.

Registration dates for undergraduate students are based on overall earned credit hours. Below you may find your summer/fall term registration date.
May 13-15 : 45 or more earned credit hours
May 16-19 : 30 or more earned credit hours
May 20-22 : 15 or more earned credit hours
May 23-26 : 1 or more earned credit hour
May 28 & on ... Open registration for all students
Stop by the Advising and Career Service Center to discuss your summer/fall term classes with an academic advisor or counselor. The summer/fall term schedule is available NOW.
NOTE: Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. May 13. All other days, registration will run continuously.
