Financial Aid Frequently Asked Questions
What’s my status?
To check your status log on to UCC Life (instructions are under Forms and Publications on Umpqua.edu)
Where are the forms?
All the required forms are available to you on line at www.umpqua.edu under “Forms and Publications” scroll down until you see the Financial Aid forms, select a form, fill it out, print it then submit it to the Financial Aid office.
I accepted my award – now what?
If you have accepted loans be sure to print the “Processing your student loan” form, available under Forms and Publications (scroll down to Financial Aid) at www.umpqua.edu. If you are only accepting grant money then you do not need to do anything else besides register and attend classes.
When will I get paid?
Checks for awarded students will be either direct deposited to your account or mailed to you if you have not signed up for direct deposit on Thursday of the second week of the term.
If you have classes that start later in the term your check will reflect your current class schedule, as your classes begin and you reach the next level (ie: ½ time, ¾ time or full time)funds will be released and a check will come to you or your account via the above mentioned process.
If you have accepted loans but have not completed the required steps, funds will not be released until you have completed these steps. The required steps are outlined on the “Processing your student loan” form, available under Forms and Publications (scroll down to Financial Aid) at www.umpqua.edu
What happens if I drop a class?
Each student is responsible for maintaining satisfactory academic progress, these guidelines are available on line at www.umpqua.edu / Forms and Publications (scroll down to Financial Aid) and select the “Satisfactory Academic Progress Standard” form.
What happens if I add a class?
Adding a class past the Friday of the first week of class will not be counted for Financial Aid purposes. While you are welcome to add classes at various times throughout the term Financial Aid MUST lock all credits on Friday of the first week of classes. This allows the business office time to reconcile all charges on student accounts and prepare checks for disbursement.
