PT Math instructor



Responsible to: Math Department Chair

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Cover the usual course content as described in the approved course outline, and provide sufficient exposure to the material so that students will satisfactorily proceed to the next course in sequence and/or courses in the program.
  • Appropriately evaluate and maintain records of student progress.
  • Provide feedback for students regarding their performance.
  • Meet each assigned class with punctuality and enthusiasm.
  • Implement class activities that will promote maximum learning.
  • Conducts class during the time and in the room provided on the regular college schedule; any deviation from this should be approved by the division chair.
  • Submit reports as requested including class rosters, grade reports, grade books, final examinations.
  • Remain current on developments in mathematics and mathematics education.
  • Carry out college policies in all aspects that relate to the position.
  • Conduct self as a representative of the college staff when participating in school related functions.
  • Is directly responsible to the department chair.
  • Leave the classroom in proper order at the conclusion of class activities.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in mathematics, or Master’s Degree in a related field with at least 9 quarter hours undergraduate and 12 quarter hours Graduate credit in math, or Masters Degree in a related field and 18 quarter hours Graduate credit in math.
  • Teaching experience preferred.

    SALARY:$492 per credit hour, 2009-10 Part-Time Instructor Salary Schedule, Base
