UTE GED Instructor

Responsible to: Director of Adult Basic Skills Development
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Instruct GED classes for teenagers and adults using individual, small and large group instruction.
Develop class lessons with a focus in reading skills, writing and math.
Administer CASAS tests to determine individual progress in reading, math and writing.
Prepare both UCC and UTE paperwork and TOPS forms.
Track student progress and attendance.
Meet the program requirements of both UTE and UCC.
Maintain a cooperative, professional attitude with fellow staff members and students.
Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of program goals and activities.
Work with students in workbooks, computer programs and other methods to meet various learning styles.
Responsible for effective classroom management.
Perform other duties as assigned by the director, instructional services coordinator or UTE personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required.
Two years of prior teaching experience, required.
Teach experience in Adult Basic Education preferred.
Experience working with teenagers preferred.
Experience teaching the five sections of the GED preferred.
Experience with the CASAS assessment system preferred.
SALARY: Level 1, $41,958, Four days per week, 188 days per year. 2009-10 Full-Time Instructor Salary Schedule, Base
