PT Adult High School Diploma Instructor

Responsible to: Director of Adult Basic Skills Development
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Instructs students in a classroom following ABSD department curriculum
Prepares, distributes, and utilizes instructional materials, supplementary materials, instructional media and other instructional support materials to effectively instruct students in subject area
Implement instructional strategies that promote maximum learning and that meets the individual learning style of each student
Develops, communicates, and utilizes student assessment processes and instruments which are related to the stated objectives/outcomes of the course.
Responsible for effective classroom management
Participates as a team member in department and planning meetings
Develop relevant and practical class lessons with a focus in reading skills, writing, math and science
Build confidence and self-esteem in students through successful completion of tasks
Maintain a cooperative, professional attitude with fellow UCC and ABSD staff members and students
Responsible for departmental equipment and provides for security of facilities and instructional materials as appropriate to the department
Carry out college and department policies/procedures in all aspects that relate to the position
Conduct self as a representative of the college staff when participating in school related functions
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or ABSD Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, required
One year of documented, successful teaching experience, required
Adult Basic Education teaching experience, preferred
SALARY: $22.28 per hour, average 8-12 hrs/wk, Part-time 2009-2010 Faculty Salary Schedule
