Part-Time EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Responsible to: Humanities/Social Science Chair and/or Education Program Coordinator
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Teach one to two courses required for certificate, AAS and/or AAOT options in early childhood education;
Engage with the Education program and Humanities/Social Science learning community by attending meetings, responding to correspondence primarily through e-mail and contributing ideas for course and department improvement;
Prepare and teach lessons within the agreed subjects to the agreed outcomes;
Submit appropriate course materials for subjects taught (course syllabus, course outline, sample assignments and other documents as requested);
Prepare reports on Student Learning Outcome results within subjects taught as assigned;
Communicate appropriately with students to facilitate their success in the courses taught;
Advise students in need of academic planning and refer to Student Development for further advising and/or career information;
Cover all required course content for assigned courses;
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree from an accredited institution in an education-related field, or background sufficient to gain approval for teaching required;
Experience teaching and working with young children required;
Experience working with adults in a learning environment preferred;
College level teaching experience and online teaching experience preferred.
SALARY:$492 per credit, Part-time 2009-10 Faculty Salary Schedule, Steps 1.
