Part - Time Lead Teacher FCEC

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Provides a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning environment for children ages six weeks to six years.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Plans, implements, and supervises the preschool/infant/toddler program at the Ford Childhood Enrichment Center.
Design a preschool/infant/toddler program that meets the needs of individual children with regard for their special interests, handicaps, talents, ages, abilities, and individual style and pace for learning.
Guide children in a manner consistent with Center policies.
Assist children in acquisition of self-help skills to include toileting, eating, dressing, napping, etc.
Use appropriate health and sanitation techniques; supervise others in maintaining standards.
Assist and supervise Early Childhood Education students in their practicum assignments and responsibilities.
Conduct parent conferences.
Maintain the ordered arrangement, appearance, décor, and learning environment of the Ford Childhood Enrichment Center.
Respect and maintain confidentiality.
Incidental Functions:
Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings.
Maintain registration in Oregon Child Care Division’s Criminal History Registry.
Maintain Oregon Food Handler’s certification.
Maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience in conducting and developmentally appropriate program for children between the ages of six weeks and six years.
Knowledgeable in the State of Oregon Child Care Department’s policies and procedures.
Able to communicate effectively with children and adults.
Physical and mental stamina to actively work with preschool aged children.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
AA or AS in early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field required.
Experience working with young children preferred.
SALARY: $11.33/hour, Part-time 2010-11 Classified Salary Schedule. Grade 19 Step 1
