Susan has coordinated college efforts in raising $13.4 million in competitive grants in six years. Her favorite part of the job is working with faculty, staff, and community partners to plan innovative and exciting projects that ultimately make our campus and community stronger. Some special projects she is working on now include raising funds for the Health, Nursing, and Science Center, establishing the UCC Foundation Fund for Innovation, and building partnerships with organizations such as the E.M. Kauffman Foundation and Walmart Foundation.
Ms. Taylor specializes in resource diversification, strategic partnerships, and special projects, and serves as a speaker at national conferences for the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), Workforce Development Institute (WDI), and Council on Resource Development (CRD). She has a master’s degree in public administration from University of Montana and a bachelor’s degree in geography from Oklahoma State University. Susan is also a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). She was recently awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to participate in the Fulbright International Education Administrators Seminar in Germany in October 2014.
Prior to finding a home in academia eight years ago, Ms. Taylor held roles as national park ranger, Boys & Girls Club director, and field ecology teacher. Susan stays busy with her husband and two young children. She enjoys travel, wine, music, swimming, reading, and the outdoors.
