Dental Assisting

 

A Certificate Program at Umpqua Community College

 

dentasstThis one year certificate program is to prepare graduates for employment in the dental setting with emphasis on current concepts of clinical chairside assisting. A dental assistant may serve as a clinical chairside assistant, receptionist, bookkeeper, office manager or laboratory technician. This program has limited enrollment.

 

Employment Outlook
According to the Oregon Department of Labor, the projected growth rate in this industry state wide is expected to exceed 32% over the next year. Students who complete this certificate can expect to earn $12 - $16 per hour.
