April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and there are several ways you can get involved, increase awareness, and support victims.

April 1-30

Unmentionables Drive – Donate new women’s unmentionables (underwear) for Battered Persons Advocacy. Donation bins are placed in each building. You can also bring donations (including cash) to the Student Life Office in the Campus Center.

Monday, April 7

10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Campus Center Lobby

Myth-Perceptions – Identify the commonly held misperceptions about sexual assault and violence.

Wednesday, April 23

All day

Denim Day USA – Wear jeans as a visual protest against the myths that surround sexual assault.

Friday, April 25

4 p.m. Douglas County Courthouse

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes – This mile-long walk is for men only and mobilizes men to stop gender violence. Come out to support the brave men as they walk!
