Contracted by Department of Human Services, we are the Douglas County component of Oregon's "welfare reform" program. In operation since 1990, our purpose is to help welfare recipients identify and maximize any personal strengths that would contribute to their attaining employment at a self-sufficiency level.
We are a "one stop" program which means that in addition to the opportunities that UCC JOBS provides for you, we will connect you with a number of other agencies in Douglas County who can help you with various services which may help you to become employed. These services can range from things like a list of current job openings, to the availability of cash grants or food stamps, to help with accessing affordable housing, to counseling, to help with domestic violence situations, and more.
