Political Science is the study of the rise and evolution of governments and politics in the world. Specifically, political science examines the origins and contemporary institutions of governments, the evolution and state of political parties, campaigns, elections, citizen rights and responsibilities, law-making and law enforcing, civil rights and liberties, and our court system. Political science majors are a vital resource in the workings of our participatory democracy. A study of political science can lead to careers in government service , politics, law, management, law enforcement, and education. The analytical skills honed in the study of political science are greatly valued as an excellent prerequisite in the above career fields.
