UCC’s new medical coding and billing program, beginning in the Fall of 2007, and leading to a Certificate, provides the means to begin a career in the health care professions in just nine months! The program prepares students for entry-level positions as outpatient medical coding specialists. Students take courses that provide them with the basic competencies to begin a career as a medical coding specialist.

Graduates of this program are in demand. The salary range for these workers is from $9.92 to $16.11 per hour.

UCC’s new paralegal program, beginning in the Fall of 2007, has a one-year certificate and can be continued for an Associate of Applied Science degree – the means to begin a legal career in just one or two years! The curriculum prepares future legal professionals with both a theoretical understanding of the world of law and the practical skills necessary to succeed. Completion could lead to employment in law firms, businesses, insurance companies, financial institutions, public agencies, title companies, or government offices.
