Roseburg— Enroll in the Umpqua Community College Community Education class “Creating Soy Candles.” The class will be on Tuesdays, April 1-April 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Douglas High School Home Economics Room, Winston. The class fee is $20, plus $25 for supplies paid at the first class. Call 440-7744 to register and request course number 43041.
Give soy candles as handmade gifts or use them to beautify your own home. They are beautiful, easy to make and safer than wax candles. They can be scented and colored! The possibilities are endless. Students will make a different style of candle at each class session. The instructor, Toni Cook, creates and sells candles commercially.
