Roseburg— Umpqua Community College Small Business Development Center is sponsoring a workshop on tax preparation. The workshop will be on Wednesday and Thursday, November 28 and 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at UCC Workforce Training Center, 2555 NE Diamond Like Blvd., Roseburg. The cost is $30, and the instructor is Steve Oleson and employees of Wicks, Emmett, Hatfield, and Chappell, CPAs. Pre-registration is not required but appreciated. Workshop topics will include: business use of the home and automobile, employing spouse or children, leasing versus buying, tax planning ideas, the latest tax updates, IRS audits, additional issues of interest, and a question & answer session.
