Printing from Your Wireless Laptop in the Library

What?
UCC Library provides black and white laser printing for users on the wireless network.

How?
For MicroSoft Windows XP computers:

To install the printer driver: Click the Windows "Start" button; click "Run". Copy and paste this into the window next to the word "open" : \\192.168.222.20\lib-wprn-001 ; now click "OK". You'll be prompted to install the driver. Click "Yes". Once installed, you'll have to choose to send your print jobs to this printer. (You probably have another printer set as your default.)

For MicroSoft Windows Vista computers:

Here are general instructions for printing from a computer with Vista. Click on Control Panel. Click on Printers. Click on "Add a Printer". Select the option to add a wireless/network printer. Vista should now seek and find the library's wireless printer. It should find the IP address 192.168.222.21 and the printer model HP 4250 PS. Select that printer to add. Vista will now prompt you to add the printer driver. Choose HP and scroll through the list of HP printer drivers to find the LaserJet 4250 PS. Install the driver. You can choose this printer as your "default". Just remember to choose a different printer when you're not on campus.

For Apple Macintosh computers:

To install the printer driver: Click the Apple icon at the top left; click "System Preference"; click the "Print and Fax" icon. Now you're going to Add Printer. Click the + symbol under the window listing the printer(s) you already use and the "Printer Setup Utility" will open. From the "Protocol" dropdown menu, choose "Jet Direct Socket". Now enter the IP address: 192.168.222.21 and click "Add".

Where?
The printer is conveniently located near the Library Director's office. Look for the table with a typewriter, a pencil sharpener, and . . .a laser printer.

How much?
This service is free to UCC students. If you are not a UCC student, please pay 5 cents per page at the Circulation desk. Thank you.
