EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Essential Functions:

  • Coordination with Perkins Consortium 5 Year Plan activities and implementation cycle.
  • Oversee and market UCC's College Now dual credit program and Expanded Options Program.
  • Provide assistance to UCC Departments and Divisions in evaluating and determining instructor credentials and qualifications.
  • Evaluate high school curriculum to ensure it parallels UCC course outlines and academic standards.
  • Develop dual credit articulation agreements with other schools
  • Develop in-service activities for high school and UCC personnel.
  • Work with high school administrators, teachers and counselors to develop educational partnerships.
  • Facilitate communications between high school and UCC instructors.
  • Function independently with minimal direct supervision in a variety or educational situations and settings.
  • Stay apprised of issues and regulations from the Oregon State Department of Education regarding secondary schools, Expanded Options and Career Technical Programs.
  • Partner with the Douglas Education Service District staff to develop dual credit and other learning opportunities for students.
  • Develop promotional materials for College Now and the Expanded Options Program.
  • Assists local high schools to plan and facilitate high school vocational leadership and skills events
  • Annually update course competency checklists for tech prep classes.
  • Supervise support staff activities.
  • Work with employers to develop student training sites.
  • Develop and monitor budgets
  • Analyze and synthesize information to complete reports including those for the Oregon Department of Education.
  • Analyze and synthesize information related to changes in secondary education and workforce trends. Utilize this information to assist in the development of new programs.
  • Participate in appropriate UCC committees and other organizations and activities which could affect the College Now/Expanded Options Program.
  • Attend and participate in community, state and national functions and meetings for Tech Prep, College Now, Expanded Options, Work Force Development and Career and Technical Education.
  • Regularly visit high school College Now sites - (Minimum one per term)
  • Attend training sessions as requested.
  • Collaborate with Department Chairs, the Counseling Center, Financial Aid, Registration, the Vice President of Instruction and others who are involved with College Now/Expanded Options students

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field
  • Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Three years experience working with vocational programs and special needs students
  • Five years high school teaching experience to include teaching job search/resume skills
  • Experience working with high school tech prep and vocational leadership program
  • Experience working with employers and administrators

    SALARY:$46,185 - $55,423 per year DOE, Full-Time, 2007-08 Administrative Salary Schedule, Range 1
