EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Essential Functions:
Provide leadership for an organizational culture in the Success Center that promotes a visionary, proactive, collaborative approach to plan and implement policies, procedures, programs, and activities to promote excellence in student success and development.; support the College Vision, Mission and Strategic Plan.
Coordinate the College-wide development of the UCC Strategic Enrollment Management Plan.
Oversee the following areas: General Counseling/Teaching Faculty; Ford Family Foundation JumpStart Grant; Disability Services; Academic Advising (includes: Coordinators of Hosted on-line, On-line Advising/High school testing & registration, Connection Hotline, Retention, International Students; Contracted Testing; Credit for Prior Learning; child care disbursement; Job Placement; placement testing; General Education Diploma (GED) Testing; Douglas County Rapid Response Team.
Responsible for compliance with the laws, codes, rules and policies of student development-related laws.
Responsible for outcomes, schedule and curriculum of career classes taught by counselors.
Chair the retention committee and sit on various campus-wide committees.
Collaborate with teaching faculty, faculty counselors and staff to resolve complex student issues and/or informal complaints.
Participate in the Student Development Leadership Team.
Develop, monitor, and manage department budgets.
Responsible for campus academic advising program: Staffing, training, information disbursement, partnerships
Chief Examiner - General Education Diploma (GED) .
Responsible for curriculum review/design of outcome-based transfer and non-transfer courses taught by Center faculty.
Administrator ACT placement testing (ASSET, COMPASS, E-COMPASS) for UCC testing center and 17 high schools.
Responsible for career planning and advising for all undecided, education and pre-nursing students.
Provide consultation and supervision for faculty counselors and counseling interns.
Collect, evaluate and report the Center student activity and profit center status.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Master's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, educational psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, or social work from an accredited college or university.
Three years of progressively responsible experience developing and providing leadership for student services programs.
Demonstrated successful experience with budget and fiscal management.
Experience supervising professional staff (faculty) and classified staff.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, sexual orientations, language groups, and work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
Preferred:
Community college experience.
Demonstrated experience with technology in student services (e.g., database programs/Microsoft Office, electronic academic plans, on-line advising, student records management systems, etc.)
Demonstrated highly developed organizational and staff development skills
Five years experience counseling, teaching and developing research for adult students in an educational setting, preferably in a community college setting.
Successful experience in student test administration and academic advising
SALARY:$62,462 - 91,194 per year DOE, Full-Time Administrative Salary Schedule, Range 4.
