EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Essential Functions:
Meet each assigned class with punctuality and enthusiasm
Implement class activities and apply instructional technologies to promote maximum learning
Follow the approved course outline and provide sufficient exposure to material so that students will satisfactorily proceed to the next course in a sequence or in the program
Establish and assess student outcomes consistent with college guidelines and program objectives
Advise students planning Foreign Language courses of study at UCC and transfer institutions
Submit reports as requested, including class rosters, grade reports, grade books, text book requests, inventories, and final examinations
Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in departmental and college committees as an effective team member
Hold regular office hours and participate in planned professional development activities
Carry out college policies in all aspects that relate to the position
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Spanish or Romance Languages
Familiarity with latest strategies for teaching with technology
Familiarity with outcomes-based assessment
Experience in using student-centered communicative approach in language learning
Enthusiasm for teaching and engagement with students
Successful experience teaching at the community college level
Demonstrated commitment to professional development
Knowledge of a second foreign language
SALARY:$41,958 - $48,828 per year DOE, Full-Time Faculty Salary Schedule, Step 1-6.
