Responsible to:  Dean of Arts & Sciences and Humanities Department Chair

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Essential Functions:

  • Teach five classes of English Composition per term;
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department;
  • Be part of the Humanities learning community;
  • Submit appropriate materials for courses taught (course syllabus, course outline, grades, etc.);
  • Assess student learning outcomes and program outcomes;
  • Prepare reports on Learner Outcome results;
  • Be aware of campus services that can assist students in need of academic advising or referral for career preparation opportunities;
  • Act as an effective team member in department meetings, committee work, and other responsibilities assigned;
  • Advise students;
  • Maintain a schedule of five office hours per week to assist students;
  • Develop and update a personal, professional development plan;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate degree in English.
  • College level teaching experience.
  • Teaching experience in online delivery.

    SALARY:$41,958 - $48,828 per year DOE, Full-Time Faculty Salary Schedule, Step 1-6.
