Have Questions??? E-mail an Advisor

UCC wants you to get the best start possible and succeed at college. Counselors will help you decide what you want to do and guide you toward accomplishment of those goals. While career planning and academic advising are the most common types of assistance, the following services are offered:

Placement Testing
The Counseling Center provides the placement tests in reading, math and writing skills for beginning students since all college programs require some coursework in these areas. All new students taking credit classes must take the placement exams which show you and your advisor which courses you should take first. If you are taking classes for personal interest only you will not need to take the placement test, but you won't be eligible to receive financial aid, veterans benefits or scholarships.

You cannot fail the placement tests. The results determine the level of English, math or reading at which you should begin in order to have a successful start in college.

Tests are given in the Counseling Center on a walk-in basis. Testing will be first come first serve. Advising is available after the test. NO appointment is necessary. Call (541) 440-4610 if you have questions related to the Placement Test or Advising.

Disability Accommodations
Disability related accommodations for placement tests are available upon request. Ask for assistance in the Counseling Center or call Disability Services, (541) 440-7655.
