Lewis & Clark, celebrating 100 years
Plan to attend a mini-lecture series called Preparing For A Journey: The Lewis and Clark Expedition, on Wed.,
May 26, 2-5 pm in Whipple Fine Arts, Rm 11.
The series is designed to be a broad perspective of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. It will be presented in
ten minute long “hot topics.” Topics will include traveling the trail today, general historical overview,
geological overview of the journey, historic landscapes, trade issues with Indian nations, nutrition and exercise,
use of art as propaganda for western travel, journals and writings, music of the era, and how much did the
taxpayers pay?
Admission is free.

Roxanna Conner of Campus Crusade says “The last 3 years as Campus Crusade for Christ Advisor has
been a great and wonderful experience. My husband has been accepted to Boise Bible College in
Boise, ID. I hope that when I leave (before the end of summer term) that I will have someone to
take my place.” They meet every Wed. at noon in the Club Union Room. No meeting finals week.

Monday, May 24 will be the Computer Club’s last day taking Graduation Announcement orders in the
Campus Center. Announcements will be ready and available in the Student Services office (Joyce Kelly)
Fri., May 28. VICA is producing a video presentation that will be used to help generate the funding
for their trip to Kansas city this summer.
Auto students donated oil changes for nine foster grandparent and senior companion volunteers from
Douglas County’s Senior Services for the United Way “Day of Caring.” BC Auto Parts has donated oil
and filters for the project. Read more next week about the work of our employees and students who
volunteered.
