New Dean of Instruction
Welcome Dr. Terry Peek as our new Dean of Instruction. He will be a great addition to our college community.
Ritter TRIO award recipient
On Thursday, May 27, at 5-7:30pm, the Celebration of Achievement for graduating and transferring TOP students
will take place in the Campus Center Dining Hall. Dr. Dale Ritter will receive the Spirit of TRIO Award. The
award is presented to a faculty or staff member who has made a significant impact on the education of a TOP
student by going above and beyond their duties to provide encouragement and support .
The staff of the TOP Program want to take this opportunity to publicly congratulate all of this year's nominees.
You have made a difference in our students' lives. Thank you!
Dinner will be offered at a cost of $11 per person, RSVP to Sue Archer by Friday, May 14. Everyone is welcome to
attend even if you do not want to eat.

On behalf of the the eight students interviewing for the Ford Family Foundation scholarships, thank you to everyone
who volunteered with the mock interviews. Eighteen of our very giving UCC family helped with the interviews. We
will certainly let everyone know if these students are successful. Thank you again.

UCC is sponsoring summer travel classes designed for newcomers and those of us who have never ventured
outside our own backyard. At each destination you will learn facinating Oregon facts, history and experience
the beauty of our area.

Celebrate our students
Plan on attending the Outstanding Students Reception on Wed., May 19, from 3-4:30 pm, at the Campus Center
Dining Room. The cafeteria will be serving strawberry short cake while the Umpqua Singers provide music.
It is a pleasant way to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of our students.
