Gallery Renovation
Thanks to the efforts of Doris Johnson, the Gallery received a grant from the Hallie Brown Ford Foundation. Changes include new wall coverings, paint and glass walls and sliding doors. Special thanks to Betty Harvey and Scott Taylor for the extra special polish they put on things for our re-opening! Please visit soon and check it out!

P/T Faculty Reminder

Hall of Fame
Nominations for the "Spirit of Umpqua" will be accepted up to April 16. Forms are available from the Lee Salter, Admin. Criteria includes excellent service, financial or in-kind, over and above normal requirements or responsibilities and a minimum of 10 years of service.

Retirement Planning
A PERS representative will be here on Thur., April 22. Four sessions will be held–9:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm or 3:30 pm–in Campus Center, Indian Room. Topics will include an explanation of the new actuarial equivalency factors, examples of the "look back" calculation, the individual account program and more. Recommended for all full time employees.

Election approaching
Candidates for 2004-05 school year student body council are needed for the positions of: President, Vice President, Public Relations Officer, Information officer, and Business Manager.Each position offers up to 16 credits of paid tuition per term. Pick up applications in lobbies of all instructional buildings. Applications deadline is April 8 with voting taking place April 20 or 21.

Young Soloist Concert
RHS students, Jamie Bierman and Bryan Houde, will be performing with the Umpqua Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Jason Heald, on Tue., April 13, 7:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Roseburg. Tickets are $5/person or $12/family. Call 440-4691.

What is the most neglected filter on a car?
Answer: Your automatic transmission filter! The auto shop is now looking for cars to do the tranny filter changes on. If you would like to have the UCC’s auto shop do this, please call Harry or Margaret at 695 to set up an appointment.

Club sponsors Walk America
UCC business club, Phi Beta Lambda, has set a goal to raise $3,000 for the March of Dime’s Walk America to be held at Stewart Park, April 24. Phi Beta Lambda is asking each of you to donate five dollars, now until April 23. Checks should be made out to March of Dimes, and donations can either be picked up or sent to Phi Beta Lambda through campus mail.
