Umpqua Community College is a member of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) and the intercollegiate athletic teams compete against other colleges throughout the Western United States and Canada. The NWAACC itself is currently comprised of four geographical regions and uses a post season playoff structure to determine an NWAACC champion in each sport.
UCC's athletic facilites are among the best in the country. Athletes have access to the Olympic sized swimming pool, tartan all-weather track, team locker room, and the indoor raquetball and weight facilities. The gymnasium has been recently renovated and some athletes say that the new gym floor adds as much as four inches to their vertical jump.
Other facilities in the Athletic Complex include tennis courts, baseball & softball fields, soccer fields, and jogging trails. Since the Athletic Complex is located on the bank of the beautiful North Umpqua River, there are also rafting, swimming and fishing opportunities available.
