BLOG OFFERS MORE INSIGHT INTO UCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
In response to several requests from former players who want to stay connected to the program, Coach Dave Stricklin has started a blog where he gives readers a more personal look into UCC women's basketball. The blog is updated frequently and can be found at www.davestricklin.blogspot.com. The blog also provides a space where "Dave's Diary" entries can be archived and/or repeated. So far the response has been outstanding and so as long as there is an interest, Coach Stricklin will keep writing.
UMPQUA RANKED #1 IN FINAL NWAACC POLL

PLAYERS & COACH RECEIVE POST SEASON HONORS
Coach Stricklin and six of his UCC Riverhawks have received post season honors in recognition of their
outstanding season.Kristi Fallin was named MVP of the NWAACC Southern Region and has also been named
Honorable Mention All American by State Farm and the WBCA. Cassie Scheffelmaier was named 1st Team All Region
while Miranda Holenstein was named 1st Team All Region and also 1st Team All NWAACC Tournament. TiTi Takai was named
2nd Team All Region and Cassandra Tiggett and Mykiea Russell were named Honorable Mention All Region. UCC Coach Dave Stricklin was named the Region Coach of the Year.
FALLIN BECOMES EIGHTH UCC ALL AMERICAN
UCC sophomore wing Kristi Fallin has become the eighth player in UCC history to receive WBCA All American recognition. She joins Lisa Tamamasui, Linda Leinonen, Sarah Coleman, Aubrey Dickson, Heidi Buehler, Lindsey Heard, and Jessica Fisiikava in the very elite group of UCC's national award winners. Fallin finished her Umpqua career with 1194 points, 118 three pointers, and 454 rebounds. The WBCA/State Farm press release announcing the All Americans can be found at www.wbca.org.com.

Umpqua Freshman guard Mykiea Russell and Coach Dave Stricklin were recently interviewed for a feature article on the advantages of junior college basketball for the online women's basketball journal, FullCourtPress.com. SCHEFFELMAIER SCORES 50 PTS. AND GRABS 21 REBOUNDS IN VICTORY
In what was possibly the greatest individual game performance ever at UCC, 5'8" sophomore guard Cassie Scheffelmaier scored 50 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in 33 minutes of playing time in the championship game of the Clackamas Thanksgiving Tournament. Scheffelmaier,from Kootenai HS in Onahill, ID, shot 17-24 field goals,5-9 from the 3 point line and 11-15 from the free throw line. Her rebound total was made up of 8 offensive and 13 defensive rebounds and if her scoring and rebounding totals weren't enough she recorded five steals as well. STRICKLIN GETS 600th WIN
With January 7th's 97-61 win over visiting Southwestern Oregon, Umpqua's Dave Stricklin joined Danny Miles, Ralph Miller,and Jim Boutin in becoming only the fourth college basketball coach in Oregon history to record at least 600 wins. So far, Stricklin's teams have averaged 28 wins a year for the past 21 years and have a winning percentage of 84%.His complete year by year won loss record can be found on the team’s website.
