Open the door to your future
Whether you aspire to an Associates degree or a certificate of training in your chosen career field, getting started at UCC is an easy five step process.
Step 1. Applying
- Complete an application form available in the Campus Center Admissions Office, or you may print the application from the web and return it with the $25.00 application fee. Mailed applications can be sent to: PO Box 967, Roseburg, OR 97470
- Students interested in Financial Aid should contact the office and begin that application process immediately. Use this link to get to Financial Aid.
- Submit official transcripts from your other college(s) to the UCC Admissions office. Students who have completed coursework at another college or university or the military and are seeking a degree, must submit official transcripts
Step 2. Placement Testing
- Included with the application fee is a free placement test, which is offered on a walk-in basis in the Counseling Center located in the Campus Center. This test is not graded but used by the counseling department to insure you start at the right level in your classes. Fees will be charged for re-testing.
Step 3. Advising
- Following the Placement Test, an advising specialist will interpret the results, answer questions and help schedule classes. A professional counselor will answer additional questions you may have regarding starting college, college resources and your career options. The professional counselors are also available to all students to assist with personal issues, which may be barriers to college success. The Placement Test, transcript college courses, and recommendations from instructors may be used in placing students in the appropriate classes.
- Next you will meet with a member of your new academic department to get acquainted and to learn more about your major. A department representative will review and approve your term planner so you may register for future terms.
Step 4. Registering
- Register in person on a walk-in basis or via the web and make arrangements to pay for classes.
Step 5. Orientation
- Attend the New Student Orientation Workshop the Friday before the term begins. The focus of orientation is to acquaint new students with UCC and the resources available to increase academic success, as well as to find opportunities to become involved in clubs and social organizations, and become acquainted with the beautiful UCC campus.
