Take a Class delivered via the Internet

Picture of a long highway which you won't see if you use distance education. The distance education courses listed originate from other community colleges within Oregon and through a cooperative agreement, are "hosted" by UCC. These classes generally appeal to motivated, self-starting students who do not require the more rigid structure of a traditional lecture class and who want the convenience of completing classes on their own time--without the requirement of attending classes on campus.

Distance Education: Right for Me?
Distance-learning students need to be self-directed and self-motivated in their approach to learning and possess effective study skills and habits. Complete the Self-Assessment Survey to find out.

When to Register for "UCC" On-Line Classes
Registration for these classes identical to on-campus classes. Some UCC classes have varying requirements for face-to-face meetings (generally no more than 3 meetings during the term). Textbook requirements are identical to on-campus classes and can be purchased at the UCC bookstore. Tuition is $69 per credit. Additional charges: registration fee of $15 per term and textbooks.

When to Register for "Hosted" On-Line Classes
Registration for Winter term, 2008 online classes begins November 27, 2007 and ends January 4, 2008. These dates are different than the registration dates for on-campus classes. Register early because these classes are open to students state-wide and therefore fill up quickly. The listed "Fee" includes tuition and a technology charge. There is an additional charge for textbooks, which are usually ordered from the providing institution's bookstore at least one week prior to the beginning of class.
