Accessibility Services and UCCOnline have collaborated to create an accessibility training for all staff and faculty at UCC. This training not only fulfills our requirements following the Oregon Civil Rights Audit of 2015, but puts us in a proactive place to serve students. Participants will learn the basics of communicating with people from varying abilty perspectives and how to prepare content that is accessible to all.
Starting this week, everyone will be enrolled in the online course as it is chock-full of resources to return to again and again. Staff and faculty are expected to complete the training by the end of the 2015-2016 school year. The online version of the course takes approximately two hours to complete and is self-paced. Danielle Haskett, Accessibility Services Coordinator, will facilitate the training both online and in-person with the support of UCCOnline.
To better accommodate the learning styles of UCC staff and faculty, we are also offering three individual face-to-face sessions for those who benefit from a classroom setting. If you would prefer to do the training in-person, click on the times listed below to register for one that best fits your schedule.
- October 11, 2016; from 9:00am - 10:30am
- November 9, 2016; from 1:00pm - 2:30pm
All of the above sessions will be held in the ETC, located in ESB33
