Speech Communication: Transfer

Careers

A degree in Speech Communication will prepare you for a wide variety of careers, depending on your focus. Argument and persuasion can prepare you for a career in government, politics or law. Interpersonal communication can prepare you for a career in social services, counseling, psychology or facilitating conversations between diverse groups. Other focuses include inter-cultural communication, organizational communication, information analysis, customer service, and speech writing.

Transfer Guide

Oregon universities vary greatly in transfer requirements for Communication Studies and Journalism programs.

Students must consult the UCC Advising and Career Center, their adviser and their transfer school as early as possible. Most Bachelor of Arts degrees require a second year of world languages; Bachelor of Science degrees require additional math.
