Got Respect?

Have you ever felt disrespected or marginalized because of who you are? Or have you found others treat you in special ways because of your individual status? We want to hear your story. Participate in essential focus groups being held this term to aid in a research project about respect and inclusion at Umpqua Community College. Meet with other smart, engaged people and discuss important questions about what it means to be respected and heard on our campus and in the world. Participants will receive small thank you gifts, and some professors may offer extra credit for participation. More importantly, you’ll be helping UCC become a community where everyone has a place. This page will provide information and updates to the campus community, so check back often!

All research protocols regarding privacy will be adhered to by all researchers and participants. Information gathered will be used to identify areas in which individuals have been disrespected, with the ultimate goal of opening communication between marginalized groups and fostering a climate of inclusion and respect campus-wide. All participants will remain anonymous outside of the focus group unless permission is granted to use an individual’s story.

Focus groups will be limited to 12 participants. If more than 12 individuals volunteer for a group, participation will be determined by random selection. Individuals may only participate in one focus group. If you can help, please complete the form below and send it to This email address is being protected from spambots.
